The Falcons' TDF involvement came and went as quickly as a peregrine's dive, but 'Twig' Sutcliffe's team showed enough promise to be a regular contender should they have lasted longer.
A 10-4 regular season record was followed by a wild card win in the playoffs before the Falcons lost by a single point to eventual champions Lebasi Bucks in the Largent-Rice conference final. Clearly demoralised by their near miss, the team failed to show up for their classification game and were duly hammered by the Villains.
Villains owner Matt Kerry had seen enough, however, and when the Falcons' imminent demise was made public, swooped in to take charge and the Enviro Mentalists were hatched.
